Background to the ring design:-
NANJING SIFANG ART MUSEUM designed by Steven Holl in a forest near Nanjing, eastern China is inspired by Chinese paintings and vanishing points, producing different landscapes with parallel perspectives.
Steven Holl combines composition, structure and materiality of landscape, even with the fine detail of texture by using bamboo to print on the concrete walls.
FUN FACT: Steven Holl also designed the KIASMA Museum in Helsinki and they now sell DUALITY in their museum shop!
